(Author) Bartholomew ThompsonThe Drow have long since forced the Elves and other sentient magical species to abandon the mortal realm. Eons later, a young elf girl, Shiara, and her parents live on a secluded island hidden from the world of man and the eyes of the Drow. They serve as a lookout in case the Drow becomes a danger to those who have left the mortal realm for Avalon. One day, the Elven goddess Lyra Morrow sends Shiara on a quest into the land of man. Along the way, she frees a dwarf and a leprechaun from the bewitchment of the Drow. Soon, they meet up with a dragon, Deryg, the black fire, who goes by the name of Deacon Drax in his human form. As it turns out, Deacon Drax is being punished by the mother of all dragons, the dragon goddess Avrae, for willingly working with the Drow. Along the way, agents of the Drow try to stop the young elf girl and her companions from disrupting the plans of the self-proclaimed goddess of the Drow, Neira Elren.
