Knitting with Chopsticks

A light-hearted account of the experiences and thoughts of a British woman living in Japan in the 1970's and 80's, just as Japan was emerging as a technical giant and littering the world with advanced electrical goods, cars, cameras and TVs. It describes what it was like for an average housewife raising kids in schools where old traditions and methods persisted, and still do, and goes beyond what the tourist sees, giving insights into what still makes modern Japan such a unique country.
