Lock-In
An Irish Tragicomedy
(Author) Mark ByrneIn this lock-in, nobody's going home from the pub... whether they like it or not. Mikie Moran is a maths teacher with a problem he cannot solve - why has Róisín become distant? In his local pub with the finest of friends, he drinks to distract himself from a relationship on the rocks. Doors bolted. Lights dimmed. Curtains drawn. The session continues into the early hours. But all good things must come to an end. This snow-white November night will take a dark turn, darker than the pub itself. Mikie and his intoxicated mates are about to discover a harsh reality - the only thing more shocking than the truth are the lengths people will go to cover it up. Lock-In is written in the spirit of authors like Roddy Doyle and Marian Keyes; a small town Irish story drunk on thrills and black humour. You'll think twice about stepping foot inside a pub ever again. Well, no, probably not.
