Double Act

This book tells the story of a collection established between 1990 and 2020 that is still unique in Italy in documenting the International Studio Glass art movement. The collection testifies to the work of 54 international artists with a corpus of 146 works in glass made between the 1950s and the present in Venice, as well as in academies and glassworks in Bohemia, in European research centers, and in the studio-furnaces of American, Canadian and Australian artists. Yet above all the collection reflects the friendship between a gallerist and a collector who for thirty years have cultivated a shared passion for artistic glass. Their passion grew out of love for the city of Venice as well as the need to confirm a research and a practice resting on the interaction between free creative expression and the tenacious rules of an ancient craft.
