Asbury's Courage

"Asbury's Courage" ---- Brutus, a bully, said get out of my way before something terrible happens to you. Asbury did not move. Brutus came closer and........The rest of the story is one you should read. It is exciting and emotional too. Brutus is abusive toward Asbury's family. Asbury lives with his mother Soft Fur, his sister Sissy, and his next door neighbor, Uncle Jake. Brutus terrorizes Asbury's family with his threats. Asbury must find the courage to stand up to this bully if he is to become the new meerkat guard. Uncle Jake gives Asbury advice as would Yoda to Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Asbury's Courage is about 1250 word picture book story written for 7 to 12 year old children. It is enjoyable to read for older children and adults as one would enjoy reading Dr Seuss's books. The moral focuses on abused children using the meerkat as a substitute for human characters to put a less frightening read to the scary and rough reality of living in an abusive environment.
