It's quite a change from the Met, where he faced riots on the capital's streets, drug gangs in Battersea and gun crime in Croyden. Now, instead of knifepoint robberies he'll be dealing with stranded sheep, combing the rain-soaked moors for lost hikers, negotiating with hunt saboteurs and surprising poachers.
