What happened to the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean in the wake of the European adventurers who claimed to have "discovered" them? While in some parts of the region they were decimated within a generation, others, such as the Kalinago of Dominica and the Lesser Antilles, resisted the onslaught. This book sheds new light on the Kalinago relationship in the wake of contact and exchange.
