Harvard CAMLab is an interdisciplinary initiative focused on creating innovative pathways to help make Chinese art and art history more accessible to both the international scholarly community and to a wider non-specialist audience. Our projects include interactive Web-based projects, immersive exhibition environments, films, and physical book publications. The present project, with the working title of The Liu-Kuo-sung Reader, is a Harvard CAMLab publication in the form of an illustrated Reader containing essays, articles, illustrations of artworks and archival photographs from the last 60 years, on the seminal Chinese painter and theorist Liu Kuo-sung (also spelled Liu Guosong in pinyin, b. 1932), whose impact on the development of modern and contemporary ink art in Asia in the post-War period is comparable on many levels to that of Picasso on the development of modernism in the West.
