Hit Man, Cop, or Wizard? Undercover cop John Angelo was trying to infiltrate the mob by posing as a contract killer when a necromantic ambush resulted in his death. Only death was not the end for Angelo. He came back, as something much more than what he was ... a blend of his own personality and that of a two-thousand-year-old sorcerer named Modred. His wizard half had to come back from the dead to help the avatars defeat the Dark Ones, immortal necromancers awakened from a spell that had kept them dormant since the dawn of time. But his human cop half came back with a damaged memory, believing that his cover identity as the lethal hit man, Johnny Angel, was who he really was. Torn between two personalities, each vying for control, Angelo struggles to maintain his sanity and stay alive while an immortal killer stalks him, seeking to put him and Modred down once and for all.
