Irishmen and Irish Whiskey
(Author) Joe Jr DorseyBartley Dorsey was born in County Galway, Ireland in 1812. The son of John & Julia Dorsey. He married a Galway lady named Margareth who was born in 1817. They had two children, Bridgett and Thomas, then left their homeland in 1854, bound for America. They settled in Preston County, Virginia, and Bartley became just another Irishmen working for the Railroad to feed his growing family. At age 58, I got into genealogy to search my family history. What I found astounded me. I now claim 3,300 souls as ancestors. I didn't know much about them, other than names and dates, and I wanted more. So I created a story to bring them alive for myself and family. Now I am sharing them with you, the reader. Live with Bartley in Ireland, meet his friends, and tag along for his adventures. Travel the back roads in Ireland, and America. Perhaps you will meet the leprechauns like he did...or did he just dream of them. Please read, and enjoy the first book I ever wrote.
