On Eagle's Wings

A beautiful Caribbean island, now a possession of the United States of America, is teeming with underground terrorist activies and drug trafficking. Two American governors had been assasinated during the first 20 years of their occupation. The insurgents are dtermined to get rid of the invaders and declare the Island's independence. Veronica's father is inducted by the American Governor to monitor their activities with disastrous consequences for him and his family. Veronica encounters a "mermaid" while visiting her most precious coral reef. This incident eventually brings her face to face with the realization of the darker side of her beloved Ferdy. The violence of a young boy augurs a lifetime of nightmarish violence and evil. The doors were as usual nailed shut. She felt an urgency to get up and get out of there. Some force kept pushing her out of bed and telling her: "Go now!" "Go now!". She dressed hurriedly. She put a few clothes in a pillow case, and how she got through the upstairs window and onto the ground below she had never been able to remember.
