Alan Durband

Alan Durband (1927–1993) was a British educator, author, and co-founder of the Liverpool Everyman Theatre. He taught English at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, where he notably instructed Paul McCartney. Durband authored the "Shakespeare Made Easy" series, presenting Shakespeare's plays with modern English translations to enhance accessibility for students. His contributions to literature and education have had a lasting impact on the study and appreciation of English literature.
